Reptile gardens are the most suitable garden for reptile lovers. A reptile garden with creatures like snakes, lizards and other slithery, leathery animal will sure make your day and bring you oodles of joy. It is not very difficult to create a reptile garden which can attract reptiles and provide them with a nice place for them to rest. These reptiles have special needs. Reptiles are cold-blooded, so they need to find ways to stay warm. Most reptiles do this by finding sunny places to rest during hot afternoons. If you want to create a reptile garden, you definitely need to have some areas for them to sun themselves. Setup up sand area in your garden so that the sand can reflects the sun and they can retained heat longer after the sun sets. Lizards and snakes love to recline on the sand and are fun to look at in contrast to the light color of sand. You can even have fun with your garden and use multi colored playground sand in places. You can include rocks in your reptile gardens too. They make a fantastic places ofr reptiles to sun themselves. Simply arrange rocks of all sizes from small pebbles at the base to large flagstones and boulders. You can even plant different kinds of foliage and flowers in between the rocks. You also need to make sure that you have create several little hiding spots in those rocks so that the reptiles can hide in there and make it their home. Many people think that reptiles do not need water since they are cold blooded. This is not true and they need water. Provide a pond, bath, swimming pool, puddle or even small waterfall in your reptile garden. It is very easy to incorporate a water feature into a setting of plants, making a gorgeous spot in your yard to observe your reptile friends. If you are considering having turtles in your reptile gardens, make sure you plant lettuce in your yard. The turtles will love the lettuce as it provides them with water which is important for their survival. You can also conduct some research on other plants that turtles like and grow them in various places in the yard. You don't have to plant them all together. It is actually more fun to have lettuce peeking out in several places in the yard. Make sure that you never spray your turtle's lettuce with pesticide and replant lettuce seed every few weeks for a continual supply.
